Insulating
Nice Renovations carry out work to insulate walls and ceilings against the transfer of heat, sound & damp. Rockwool insulation is used for it's superior thermal and sound transfer properties and it's added safety because it is non combustible. It also minimises condensation on old walls.
Insulating walls is a popular solution for older properties which have little thermal insulation and where the plaster on the walls and ceilings are damaged, or with signs of damp. This example Nice Renovations installed a metal studwork against the old wall and on the ceilings which contained 50mm of Rockwool insulation and also new electrical conduits. It was then covered in plasterboard and decorated. Damp proof membrane was installed where required. The result is a much warmer property in winter and cooler in the summer. Further benefits are that it is significantly quieter, electrical sockets are where they are needed, radiators were upgraded and moved, there is no peeling paint and it is decorated beautifully to the customer's specification.
